Early Childhood Supports in Preschools and Daycares
We partner with community preschools and daycares to provide screening, developmental support, and classroom-based strategies for children who may benefit from additional help.
What We Provide
Learning Potential Foundation provides early childhood services for children who may benefit from developmental support. Our services are designed to happen within the child’s preschool or daycare environment, making support more accessible, familiar, and connected to the child’s daily routines.
Developmental Screenings
Preschool & Daycare Screenings
We offer screenings for age-eligible children at partnering childcare facilities. These screenings are a starting point to help determine whether a child may benefit from additional support.
Screenings may include areas such as:
Speech and language development
Fine motor development
Early learning readiness
Behavioural or social-emotional concerns where applicable
If a child may benefit from support, we can help guide next steps and connect them with appropriate services.
Classroom-Based Support
Support in the Child’s Learning Environment
Our programming occurs within the child’s community preschool or daycare setting. This allows children to receive support in a place that already feels familiar, while also helping teachers understand how to support the child during regular classroom routines.
This approach helps children practice new skills in real-life learning moments, including play, transitions, group activities, communication, social interaction, and self-help routines.
Teacher & Daycare Support
Helping Educators Support Every Child
We work as a multidisciplinary team of AB Certificated Teachers and professionals to provide strategies, tools, and guidance for supporting children with developmental delays. This may include practical classroom strategies, adaptations, communication support, behaviour support, and recommendations from specialists.
Our goal is to help educators feel equipped, confident, and supported.
Coordinated Professional Support
Specialist Oversight
Programming is overseen by an AB Certificated Coordinating Teacher and the team may include support from professionals such as a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, and/or Behaviour Strategist, depending on the needs of each individual child. We also have access to third-party Registered Psychologist if needed.
This team-based approach allows support to be tailored to each child.
Accessible Support for Families and Facilities
Learning Potential Foundation supports children who may benefit from PUF funding, Mild/Moderate funding, or EAL funding. Services are provided at no cost to families and facilities and typically run from September to June, following the school year.
ℹ️ Age eligibility and funding requirements may vary. Contact us to learn more about whether your child or childcare facility may qualify.
